A drawing is based on photos you provide.
(*In particular situations, the artist will work with you on taking the photos).
Ms. Howard is very realistic in her approach. By using colored pencils, subtle details of individual hairs/fur, feathers/scales, can be reproduced to capture the personality of your pet (you may only have one in the portrait). -
Average size of the finished drawing is approximately 11” x 14”, without mat. (Size will vary depending if the whole animal is drawn, or just a face/closeup)

Depending on when the artist receives you photo, it can take between 8-12 weeks the finished portrait
About The Artist: Doris Howard
Ms. Howard has been a professional animal-portrait artist for over 45 years. She retired after 36 years with Norwood Public Schools as an Art Educator/Lead Teacher. As a volunteer at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, she leads school touring and is also an art director at Zoo New England, working with their annual fund raising event, Zootopia.
